About

How we work

Commercial Glazing UK is a commercial glazing contractor working across mainland UK. We survey, specify against the standard that applies, price it in writing, and install. We do not do domestic work.

  • Free measured site survey
  • Fixed written quotation
  • Mainland UK coverage
  • Commercial specialists only
  • 24-hour emergency response

Specification first, product second

Most glazing problems we are called to fix are specification problems rather than product problems. An EI60 pane in an untested frame. A balustrade designed to an office loading in a retail unit. A 45dB partition stopped at a suspended ceiling. In each case the material was fine and the specification was wrong.

So we start with what the element has to do and which document governs it, and the product follows from that. It is a slower conversation at the start and a much cheaper one over the life of the building.

Prices published, not hidden

Every service page on this site carries an indicative rate. We publish them because the alternative — making people book a survey to find out whether a job is affordable — wastes everyone's time, ours included.

They are budget ranges and we are explicit that they are not quotations. A firm price follows a measured survey, and that survey is free.

What we will tell you not to do

We will not drill and dry a misted sealed unit, because it is not a repair. We will not fit a frameless balustrade to a substrate that cannot take the moment. We will not quote EI-rated glass where EW would do and the separation distance allows it.

Saying so at survey costs us work occasionally. It costs considerably less than the alternative.
